PASS SQL Saturday #138 - Sydney 2012 a success

Grant Paisley - Friday, July 13, 2012

Angry Koala sponsored and hosted PASS SQL Saturday #138 - Sydney 2012 at Epping Boys High School on Saturday 21st April 2012. It was a great success with over 200 people attending.

Having people stick their top three passions (outside technology) to themselves stimulated a HUGE networking day:

Anarchy Scrabble
Tell a story with the words
Bushwalking
Peace, danger, the unknown and snakes
Comedy
Who doesn't like to laugh?  Actually, I can name a few ppl...
cricket
I am Indian i have to love cricket
dancing
Girls find guys who can dance sexy
Dreaming and Thinking
Isn't that what we are here for?
Procastrinating
Im lazy so anything that can keep me from doing my job.
Radio Control Car racing
Speed without broken bones
Travelling
Who doesn't!
Wine
I like things I'm no good at - Wine; I can drink the stuff all day, but still can't tell the difference between a Pinot and a Merlot!

My friend Andrew Hill from STARStv put up the lunchtime team building activities and my brother Mark from AV2U put together this great video.

My session "Killer Real-World PowerPivot Examples" was a dry run for Jun 2012 session at TechEd 2012 Orlando (it has already had more than 3,700 views)

I'm not sure the audience appreciated Koala droppings (Hesche kisses) as much as my normal "cling koalas" pegged at them.

Just working on a blog to show you how I created the Measures PowerSlicer...
